it's night again
Half past four in the morning and another Saturday night has come to its end. I took out all the hairpins and my hair was all curly. Half a beer is still standing on my desk from before I left earlier this evening. I am tired and I am cold, and I'll go to bed in a second. But know this, know this: put a good bunch of half naked climbers in a room, and I am in heaven.

RYXP
So, a little while back, very recently actually, I went to a Röyksopp gig. Now, usually, I can't stand concerts, I just get bored, and I prefer listening to music while doing something else at the same time. But this concert I really enjoyed. It wasn't too long, and I was just tipsy enough to be able to every now and then close my eyes and feel the music. They did a great job changing the songs ever so slightly so that it became a whole new listening experience compared to the album versions without losing the jist of the songs. Visually I really liked the mix they had set up on the big screens next to the big screens.
And, as a surprising bonus Robyn popped up and voiced in on a couple of songs. Pictures are all taken with my phone, but I quite like the simplicity and unpretentiousness the phone camera gives.
Two downsides:
- first half I ended up standing behind very tall people, and considering I'm not particularly short myself, this is very well done.
- second half I stood behind a couple making out ferociously while swaying all over the place. Me, being stubborn, refused to move further back, and I stayed put even though they kept bumping in to me. Eventually they moved thirty centimeters forward.

October mornings
It's fucking cold in the mornings. Especially since I drive a scooter. Not that around 0 degrees celcius is that cold in aboslute terms, but your body hasn't had enough time yet to adapt to the colder weather, and the air is ripe with raw humidity. Takes me a long time to heat up properly from morning and onwards nowadays.
Just discovered the music of Martin Stimming, just listen to this one, it fits so fecking brilliantly to the season.
Also, decided not to go hiking this weekend after all. I desperately need to study and catch up.

x3
Three pieces of randoness from the week past.
1.
Went to a pin up/rockabilly/people-turning-30 party last weekend and came home with my pantyhose looking like this. Ripped up thorougly. It had been a good night for dancing.
2.
Sold my giant Exped Downmat 7 LW and bought the Downmat UL 7 M instead. No more bad conciousness about taking up too much space in tents, and approx 500 grams less to carry. Yay.
3.
Finally wore out my climbing shoes (a hole in the toe at least. Makes them uncomfortable enough). They never really fitted my feet well anyway, and now I get to buy a new pair. Also, this means I've been climbing more. Good stuff.
3 and 1/2.
Listening to Major Lazer.

Mountains and Men
What more do you need? Two of life's highlights.
A little bit of good music is not to despised either.

Saturday night
I'm living in the middle of nowhere this July. And not in the good in-the-middle-of-nowhere, with wonderful nature to explore all around. No, I'm caught between the mine, the main road, and the river that has no bridges for many, many kilometres. It's the kind of place where you're dependant on a car, which I don't have. Thank god for the internet is all I'm saying. And thank you to my neighbour who lent me his wifi password. Because there is no internet connected to this apartment (it's owned by the mine).
On another note, sitting here with Tom Odell's Another Love on repeat. Beautiful, wonderful song. I've added it below, but only in a smallest version, 'cause the video is boring and Odell himself looks like he's not out of his teens yet. So just listen to it and watch something else while you're doing so.

Madness
Listen to this. It's one of my favourite pieces of music. Listen to it, the whole way through, as the changes are some of the best bits. I prefer this version of it, the rawness in it, it's enticing. It's one of those rare pieces of classical music that you can actually dance around to, all over the house, extending, contracting.
Now, I don't actually know shite about music, and I don't play any instrument. But how wonderful wouldn't it be to be able to play the cello really well.
There is nothing sexier than a woman playing the cello, barefoot, her hair down and damp with sweat, her moving together with the bow, as the cello sits between her legs, quivering with every stroke.

Wear sunscreen
Do you remember that "song" from the nineties by Baz Luhrman called Everybody's free (to wear sunscreen)? If not, or you haven't heard it, it's on the video below. I like it since it contains a lot of obvious, but still valid, truths.
My favourite line from that song is "do one thing everyday that scares you". I think that's a good mantra to live by. Especially if you're scared of a lot of things, like me. Now, finding something scary every single fucking day can be kinda difficult. I find that once or twice a week is a more doable goal.
So, last week, my scary thing was on Sunday. We went to a cave where you can get guided tours. Setergrotta in Mo i Rana, if anyone's interested. The cave in it self was just fun, I like being underground, even the bits that were rather a tight fit. No, the scary bit was traversing a narrow stretch where you had to have one foot one each side of the wall, and a 15 m drop below. The walls did have oblique ledges, but they were slippery, and we had no safety equipment. It wasn't really particularly dangerous, but as I said, I scare easily, and my heart was thumping heavily at this point. If I was to fall, I would also, most likely, get stuck, as it narrowed in downwards.
There was the option of taking another route, but since the three other participants, plus the guide, didn't do so, I didn't want to seem like the sissy I am. Fake it 'til you make it!
And afterwards I felt great!
Anyone else done anything lately that scared them?

You!
A friend and I, we have a song. It's our song. A song where we shout the lyrics to each other across the room, for example at a party, for example after a couple of beers, but not neccessarily. Because it's always a rockin' song. And now I've shared it with you. I would recommend watching the music video too.
And then my friend came home from Edinburgh where she had bought me a bar of soap. The most brilliant bar of soap ever made! Thank you Helene!

The Answer
Been listening on and off to Die Antwoord lately. I like it. Especially the two songs below, I fink u freeky, and Fatty Boom Boom. The videos are rather amusing as well. I can imagine it's good music to either wank off or fuck to.
